High School Summer Research Internship

Submitted by nikki.argyle on

The U of U College of Engineering Outreach Team is developing a new summer program for local high school students, The High School Summer Research Internship (SRI).

The SRI will be available for rising juniors and seniors (students who will graduate in 2023 or 2024) who are interested in engineering research. Students who participate in the eight-week-long program will be matched with engineering researchers at the U of U, will perform 30 hours of research per week, and participate in other activities coordinated by the SRI team.

FOOD TRUCKS, FUN AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING AT THE ALC

Submitted by nikki.argyle on

And so the food truck adventure begins...

Don't call us crazy, call us entrepreneurs! Our Business and Media Production CAPS, NeboCAPS and ALC students are excited to announce that we will be converting a school bus into a working mobile food truck this year. The bus was delivered on Friday and we are BEYOND excited!  The bus was purchased at auction for our NeboCAPS students through the Nebo School District CTE department.  Our ever fearless CTE Coordinator, Alan Ashton, drove to Arizona to hand-deliver the bus to us.

“Tell Me the Brand without Telling Me the Brand…”

Submitted by nikki.argyle on

SFHS Business students in Mrs. Ford and Mrs. Whittekiend’s classes had a short lesson about Brand Identity and Brand Recognition before choosing a brand to represent on their blank turkey.  The rules stated that they couldn’t directly use the logo or the brand name, but needed to make the turkey’s brand recognizable.  We have so many fun and creative students!
