The U of U College of Engineering Outreach Team is developing a new summer program for local high school students, The High School Summer Research Internship (SRI).

The SRI will be available for rising juniors and seniors (students who will graduate in 2023 or 2024) who are interested in engineering research. Students who participate in the eight-week-long program will be matched with engineering researchers at the U of U, will perform 30 hours of research per week, and participate in other activities coordinated by the SRI team.

There will also be the opportunity to develop this research into submission to the Utah Science & Engineering Fair. The program will not be providing housing for participants, so students who are interested, but do not live within daily driving distance from the U, will need to find their own lodging.

The program is application-based and can be found HERE. Applications close on January 31, 2022.
