SHHS Student has a fun day at Spring Lake Trout Farm Internship

Submitted by nikki.argyle on
Every internship has unique opportunities. Kyleigh Young gives an account of a fun day at her Internship with Spring Lake Trout Farm.   "One day at the trout farm I thought it was going to be a normal day with feeding the fish and helping out with cleaning filters. But then I was told to go get waders on. I got pretty excited. After I got waders on I climbed up into one of the tanks. From there we knocked fish out (not dead, just “sleeping”) and gender-checked them. It was so much fun handling the fish!"

Nebo is partnering with Tabitha’s Way for a new event called Read & Feed.

The purpose of this event is to encourage children to continue to read during the summer and to educate families facing food insecurity regarding food resources available to them and their children while they are not attending school. Our goal is to gather 10,000 gently used books that children can take home with them and keep to read during the summer.
