SFHS Business Students Unleash Entrepreneurial Talents By Crafting Their Own Unique Brand

Submitted by nikki.argyle on

After studying branding, Mrs. Ford’s Digital Marketing students were able to create their own personal brands on t-shirts!  Their brands reflected their own personal brand statements such as “Strive”, “Stand Tall”, and “Stop Waiting for the Weekend”.  We loved getting to know our classmates through their personal brand.

FCCLA NAtionals: Mapleton Jr High Student Attends For The First Time

Submitted by nikki.argyle on

For the first time, Mapleton Jr High had an active Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Chapter, thanks to Bonny Groneman, the Family Consumer Science teacher/FCCLA Adviser who started running a competitive FCCLA program at Mapleton Jr High. Although over the years they have done multiple service projects for their community and school, the opportunity for these students to compete and improve themselves individually and as a leader at regional, state, and national levels was not a reality until 2023.

Submitted by nikki.argyle on

This past June, Maple Mountain SkillsUSA students who had placed on the state level traveled to Atlanta Georgia to compete at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference. This was MMHS's biggest group to go to Nationals to date and it was a huge success. MMHS had 5 National medalists competitors and accounted for almost 14% of the medals earned by Utah. Graduated Senior Ben Cornaby won 1st place in welding fabrication of almost 50 competitors. He's now going to put himself in competition for the single spot for world skills.

FBLA Competes at Nationals

Submitted by nikki.argyle on

Three of our FBLA students competed at the national level last week in Atlanta, Georgia.

Keslee Van Orman and Parker Thalman competed in Job Interview and Introduction to Information Technology. Although they did not make the top 10, we are extremely proud of their hard work and dedication.

Sadie Wheeler took 5th place overall in Introduction to Public Speaking! Her final speech was done in front of four judges and a live audience of advisers and FBLA contestants, no pressure! It was very exciting to see her on stage being recognized for her efforts!
