Monday, January 11, 2021, the Salem Hills High Ag teachers hosted our cross-curricular CTE collaboration. It was amazing to see the involvement and support from their FFA officer team. We had Career Technical Education (CTE) teachers from a variety of content areas from the jr high and high school, and counselors attend to gain a better understanding of what our Ag department has to offer. We focused on how we can connect our classes and have a better understanding of what goes on there.
Spanish Fork High School hosted their first-ever Armed Forces Day on November 20th in the SFHS Library. Representatives from the Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard, and U.S. Army all attended and discussed opportunities in the armed forces as a career path. This event came about because a number of SFHS students expressed interest in the armed forces and wanted a safe space where they would compare and contrast opportunities from different branches of the military. We hope to make this an annual event at our High School.
A few of our Maple Mountain DECA/FBLA members were able to participate in the Warm the Soles of Kids program and wrap shoes for economically disadvantaged MMHS students. These shoes were donated and delivered to our school by Nebo Credit Union. We’re grateful to them for their generosity and glad we could continue our tradition of helping to wrap these shoes; we had a great time!
It's that time of year again. The CTE Scholarships go LIVE Monday, November 2! You may access the scholarship application at https://www.schools.utah.gov/cte/resources/scholarshipsawards?mid=3119&tid=0.
On September 30th Nebo School District Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) student officers had an amazing virtual leadership conference put on by the student leaders throughout the state. Nebo School District proudly has 2 state officers
Maple Mountain High School had their Club Rush on September 29 during lunch. Student organizations and clubs lined the halls welcoming potential members into their ranks. From displays with balloons and banners to candy and donuts...students were encouraged to stop at different booths to talk to club officers about joining their groups. It was a great time with lots of fun and laughter!
