Our girls from MMHS had a great time at Microsoft's DigiGirlz event where they built their own brush bots, designed homes using AutoDesk, used block codes to create their own video games, and learned about career opportunities for women in tech careers. They had a blast! #CTE #DigiGirlz

Springville High School Celebrates CTE Month

To celebrate CTE Month at Springville High School students were asked to think about how they plan on making their first 100 Grand? They were then challenged to think  of careers that they are interested in and submitted their responses on $100 bills. After they shared their interest with Mr. Black and taped them on the wall, he gave them a kick-start to their career pathway by giving them a 100 Grand candy bar.

Maple Mountain High FCCLA was represented so well at the Region 4 FCCLA competition! 25 of our Golden Eagles attended, with 22 of them competing in various projects relating to Family and Consumer Sciences Education.  Projects included Fashion Construction, Event Management, Hospitality, Chapter in Review, Baking and Pastry, Job Interview, and more!

February is National CTE Month BUT what is CTE?

CTE stands for Career & Technical Education. Previously it was called vocational education. CTE focuses on teaching tech-based and career-oriented skills and prepares students with real-world skills that they need to enter the workforce in 13 different career clusters.

SFHS FFA Competes at Area 5 Regionals

Spanish Fork FFA competed at the Area 5 Contests (regionals) this week at Springville High School. Maddy Nielsen did a great job representing in the Creed competition. Jesse Shepherd took home the win in the Prepared Public Speaking event with his speech about conventional versus cage-free chickens.

NEBO Welding Invitational 2020

January 13, 2020, the Annual Welding Competition was held at MMHS. Salem Hills, Spanish Fork, Maple Mountain, and Springville High School welding programs were in attendance along with neighboring Provo High School. This competition has evolved from a welding competition to also include a fabrication competition, so double the number of students has the opportunity to get involved. Each school was able to bring 6 of their elite students to compete against each other.

Friday, January 17 MMHS DECA competed at our region competition.  Our students have worked hard with many early morning practices and the results showed.  Of the 8 students that attended all place in the top three.  We are working on the same results for our state competition in one month.  Great job team!!  “Not in the photo Eldon Van Orman and Kyle Chidester.”

Spanish Fork High School FFA Chapter Honors Spanish Fork Police Department by declaring December 16, 2019 "Blue to Blue" day. SFHS FFA presented SF Police department in a small ceremony with 45 turkeys, 45 poinsettias and Thank you cards in gratitude for their service, sacrifice, and dedication to Spanish Fork Community. Gifts were raised and grown by the FFA students in the agriculture program at Spanish Fork High School. Spanish Fork Police Department we thank you for your service!
