Every year, Utah Surgical Arts hosts "Academic Advantage," where junior high and high school students learn what a career in healthcare looks like, from the educational requirements to a "day in the life" of a medical professional. This year, the Academic Advantage event will be held on April 15th, 2023 at the Wilkinson Student Center at BYU.
This event is free to all students and the content provided is tremendous. Students derive immense value from it, so much so that many students request to return each year! Students in grades 7 - 12 are welcome to come and are encouraged to participate.
The speakers explain who they are, what they do, and what it took for them to achieve their position. A counselor will also be present and provide students with practical advice for what they can do in high school and beyond. There will also be an expo with local colleges, universities, and nonprofits so that students can get even more information about applying to different schools or about opportunities to volunteer in the community.
The event is Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Wilkinson Student Center at Brigham Young University from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm in rooms 3220 - 3222 - 3224.
