MMHS Students Have Huge Success At National SkillsUSA

Submitted by nikki.argyle on

This past June, Maple Mountain SkillsUSA students who had placed on the state level traveled to Atlanta Georgia to compete at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference. This was MMHS's biggest group to go to Nationals to date and it was a huge success. MMHS had 5 National medalists competitors and accounted for almost 14% of the medals earned by Utah. Graduated Senior Ben Cornaby won 1st place in welding fabrication of almost 50 competitors. He's now going to put himself in competition for the single spot for world skills.

FBLA Competes at Nationals

Three of our FBLA students competed at the national level last week in Atlanta, Georgia.

Keslee Van Orman and Parker Thalman competed in Job Interview and Introduction to Information Technology. Although they did not make the top 10, we are extremely proud of their hard work and dedication.

Sadie Wheeler took 5th place overall in Introduction to Public Speaking! Her final speech was done in front of four judges and a live audience of advisers and FBLA contestants, no pressure! It was very exciting to see her on stage being recognized for her efforts!
