Health Career Fair

Nebo School District is excited to participate in the annual  Mountainland CTE Region "Heath Career Fair" on December 9th.  The event will be held at the MTECH Lehi Campus and will allow high school students the opportunity to grow their healthcare knowledge on various career pathways and connect them to post-secondary education options.  Students will be able to attend 3 hands-on sessions presented by industry professionals.  During these sessions, students will discover real-world practices, as well as interact with industry experts and ask questions related to healthcare careers.

Alan Ashton, CTE Coordinator for Nebo School District, is an enthusiastic Health Career Fair advocate and believes that "providing this opportunity for students allows them to expand their career options in the medical field.  Attendance introduces students to a variety of specific areas in health fields that they may have a greater interest in."

Sessions available include presentations from health professionals in mental health, dentistry, emergency care, nursing, sports medicine, labor & delivery, search & rescue, physical therapy, physician assistants, and more!  With almost 12,000 health professional job openings typically available in Utah*, occupations in healthcare are the 4th largest in-demand jobs regionally.  UVU and MTECH will be on hand to share the programs, certificates, and degrees available to help students get the education necessary to meet local these industry needs.

Students interested in attending should contact their Health Science teacher for more details and sign-up information.
