This past week, members of the Spanish Fork/Salem Chamber gathered for a monthly Lunch & Learn to hear about CTE (Career & Technical Education) Internships from Nebo School District's Christine Thomas. She gave a summary of the program, which is available to Nebo high school juniors and seniors who are interested in exploring a specific career and receiving high school credit.
Chris said, “There are many local companies who offer internship experiences for our students and we appreciate all the time they contribute to the students' success.”
DECA is a club to prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs to be college and career ready. Any student In a business class can join the DECA club.
This year Keller Stinsin, Luke Dalley (SHHS) and Gavin Murray (MMHS) represented the Nebo School District DECA club in Atlanta, Georgia. The boys competed in Hospitality and Tourism Decision Making, and Retail Marketing.

Congratulations to Chloe Evans for receiving the CTE Scholarship to MTECH! Chloe plans to get her LPN nursing certification through MTECH and then continue on to complete her RN certification.
KSL featured one of our former students from Salem Hills High. Her FCLA advisor, Aubrey Turnbow said, "Bri Erickson from Salem Hills High School was a First Place National FCCLA winner from summer 2021. It is awesome to have a student making a difference with her sewing skills."

On March 24th & 25th, 2022, Maple Mountain's SkillsUSA students opportunity to compete at Utah SkillsUSA State Competition and bring home some medals.
The Advanced Learning Center Collision repair class had 4 students who recently competed in the Utah SkillsUSA on March 24th & 25th, 2022. Seth Christmas (Maple Mountain) and Erik Kallaker(Springville) competed in Collision repair technology. Brady Olsen (Spanish Fork) and Ethan Mower (Salem) competed in the automotive refinishing competition.
Last week SHHS FCCLA students attended Utah FCCLA State Conference and had the opportunity to compete. The following students received awards.

Mrs. Ford’s Business Office Specialist students have the unique opportunity to become Microsoft Office Specialists by taking the industry-recognized MOS exams. Students who earn these certifications will possess marketable skills that will get them hired faster, and give them high-growth, advancement, and salary opportunities right out of high school!
