MMHS students Give Service

Submitted by roxann.hoffman on

The FBLA club, and other students from Mr. Spainhower's classes, at MMHS have had a busy couple weeks and we wanted to share! Last Friday night they teamed up with Nebo Credit Union to assist them in their "Warm the Soles" program. Our students helped wrap over 900 pairs of Christmas shoes that Nebo CU purchased for deserving students in our district. It was such a wonderful event and our students loved supporting such a great cause!

Payson High Environmental Students take a Field Trip

Submitted by roxann.hoffman on
The PHS Environmental Science students experienced first hand how water from the city starts out dirty after leaving homes and turns into pure water. Santaquin City has a state of the art facility where water gets pure enough that citizens can put it on their lawns. The students witnessed how water so dirty that you don't want to be in the same room as it, looks crystal clear. This process uses no chemicals, just bacteria and UV light. Image removed.

Spanish Fork EMS Internship is a Success

Submitted by roxann.hoffman on

My name is Steven Jeffery, I am interning with Spanish Fork EMS.  One day in September we loaded the fire trucks with water and food to take up to the firefighters working on the canyon fires.  I have learned to do ambulance checks and restock them with what supplies they need.  I have also gone on two car accident calls. I helped run vitals and assisted them with what was needed. I  attend their morning checks and have talked to them about many aspects of emergency medicine.

Rebecca Powell a Veterinarian Technician at West Mountain Veterinary Hospital

Submitted by roxann.hoffman on

Rebecca Powell- When I started my internship at West Mtn Veterinary Hospital, I had to ask where everything  was and what it looked like. After two months I am much more comfortable. Techs will quiz me on things during our down time and I know more than some of the others now, and I am teaching them!  I’ve been able to help flush out bladder stones and observe spays, neuters and dew claws.  I love my internship and don’t want it to end!
