Maple Mountain High School Welding Class is Semi-finalist in ESAB "Weld it Forward" contest.
Maple Mountain High School recently submitted an application and letter to ESAB to partcipate in the "Weld in Forward" contest. They have been selected as a Semi-finalist.
Ladd Davis and Nate Wright, students along with Jared Massic, welding instructor, wrote essays to get entered. Maple Mountain High was selected as one of the top 3. " If we win the next phase we will win $20,000 of Welding equipment. The next phase is a service based fabrication project where we "weld it forward" and will be voted on by the public as well as scored by a panel of judges," said Jared Massic.
FFA students at Spanish Fork High School are Successful at Farmers Market
Spanish Fork FFA finished a great year with the school garden program. This was our second year selling produce at the Spanish Fork Farmers Market. In total 7 students worked throughout the summer in the garden, taking care of the plants, harvesting, and selling produce. This year we grew 250 tomato plants, 75 pepper plants, 30 melon plants, and various squash plants. Our harvest was great this year, in total we harvested over 3,150 pounds of tomatoes, and countless squash, melons, and peppers! In total the garden sold nearly $2000 of produce at the Spanish Fork Farmers Market!
Maple Mountain High School's FBLA Team wins at Region
Maple Mountain High School's FBLA Club competed in Region this past Friday and did very well. We had 11 students competing and brought home 19 total medals/certificates! Please congratulate these students if you have them in your classes.

Brent Peterson is the Executive Director of the STEM Partners Foundation, an industry coalition organized to connect teachers with industry professionals. He spoke to the Spanish Fork Chamber of Commerce members at a luncheon on October 18.
The Foundation, with the help of DellEMC, Adobe, Comcast, IMFlash and Boeing, have built the STEM Mentor Exchange

Health Career Fair
Each year Nebo School hosts a Health Career Fair for all students in our area. The students get to see and hear first-hand from the people that are doing the jobs in the Health Career Field. The picture shows student that were interested in learning about being a lab technician.
