FOOD TRUCKS, FUN AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING AT THE ALC

Submitted by nikki.argyle on

And so the food truck adventure begins...

Don't call us crazy, call us entrepreneurs! Our Business and Media Production CAPS, NeboCAPS and ALC students are excited to announce that we will be converting a school bus into a working mobile food truck this year. The bus was delivered on Friday and we are BEYOND excited!  The bus was purchased at auction for our NeboCAPS students through the Nebo School District CTE department.  Our ever fearless CTE Coordinator, Alan Ashton, drove to Arizona to hand-deliver the bus to us.

“Tell Me the Brand without Telling Me the Brand…”

Submitted by nikki.argyle on

SFHS Business students in Mrs. Ford and Mrs. Whittekiend’s classes had a short lesson about Brand Identity and Brand Recognition before choosing a brand to represent on their blank turkey.  The rules stated that they couldn’t directly use the logo or the brand name, but needed to make the turkey’s brand recognizable.  We have so many fun and creative students!

MMHS Weilding Field Trip

Submitted by nikki.argyle on

Students from the MMHS advanced welding class were able to go on a field trip where they toured 4 union halls (sheet metal workers, pipefitters, ironworkers, and boilermakers) and Weber State University's welding engineering department. It was a long day of over 10 hours and 200 miles but the students enjoyed using the equipment at several of the union halls, learning about post-high school options, and meeting with multiple experts in the field of welding and other trades. Thank you to everyone who made this field trip possible!

SFHS Next Step Prep Class

Submitted by nikki.argyle on

Students in Mrs. Whittekiend’s Next Step Prep (Business Communication) class have been working hard on perfecting their presentation and teamwork skills.  Today the importance of teamwork was emphasized as a soft skill that everyone should develop.  Students had fun working as teams to solve problems and think critically and creatively.  Brooklyn, Annette, and Harley came up with some hands-on activities and did a great job leading the class through their presentation.

MMHS AG Students Honor Veterans

Submitted by nikki.argyle on

What an honor it was to donate 100 flower arrangements to the Payson Veterans home today to honor the amazing Veterans in our community! Our amazing floral students made beautiful patriotic-themed bud vase arrangements to give each Veteran at their awards banquet today. All of the Ag Students at MMHS made beautiful cards with heartfelt appreciation for those who have sacrificed to preserve our freedoms. Thank you to all of the brave men and women serving in our military and those how have served. God bless America!
