Brent Peterson presents to Chamber members about STEM MX, partnership between Educators & Industry Professionals 59.99 KB
Brent Peterson  is the Executive Director of the STEM Partners Foundation, an industry coalition organized to connect teachers with industry professionals. He spoke to the Spanish Fork Chamber of Commerce members at a luncheon on October 18.

 

The Foundation, with the help of DellEMC, Adobe, Comcast, IMFlash and Boeing, have built the STEM Mentor Exchange

​which ​

is a free smartphone app that matches teachers and industry professionals.  Teachers submit their NEEDS for curriculum and project support.  Professionals submit their OFFERINGS of time, talents and resources.  STEM MX is an industry led effort to support teachers in preparing kids for tomorrow's jobs.

 

FACTS he shared:
  • STEM jobs are growing faster than our schools can produce qualified graduates.
  • Partnerships between teachers and professionals can motivate our kids to succeed in STEM.
  • Educators want your real-world experience and passion for STEM careers.
He asked the chamber members to join thousands of professionals in matching their skills with our teachers' needs.
