High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) students from each high school within Nebo School District joined together to construct a new structure to accommodate more Shadow Mountain attendees.

This opportunity gave students a real hands-on experience within the construction trades. Every day the students would leave with a new understanding within construction. Jim and Dwayne, the experienced construction foremen, continually challenged the students to try new things and demonstrated the ‘tricks of the trade’.  Each student walked away with a new appreciation for a nontraditional style of learning. “Every participating student finished the project wanting to come back” stated Shaun Black, the recruiter of students for the district.

Once completed, this structure will lodge another 40+  students and will continue to support the Shadow Mountain Program. Shadow Mountain invites graduating 5thgrade students to spend several exciting nights in the beautiful Hobble Creek Canyon area.
