In Nebo School District, we have amazing CTE teachers! We are so grateful for all that they do for our students, parents, and for our district. February is CTE Month and to celebrate our teachers we would like to spotlight them and share a few fun facts we have learned about each of them.

Nicholas Van Sheffer has been teaching for 5 Years. He currently teaches Digital Literacy at Mapleton Jr High School.

The best thing about his job is when you see the light turn on in your student's eyes. That light when they get excited about learning. Feeling like you made a difference that will ripple into the future for years and years to come.

In his spare time, he enjoys many things! He is an artist, Vintage VW Bus enthusiast, Vintage Vespa collecting, Longboarding, Skateboarding, Vans Shoes Collecting, Backpacking, Original TMNT loving, Football playing, and family time with his four children.

When asked if he could live anywhere in the world he wanted he said he would have 3 homes: One here in Utah, One in San Diego, and one in Alaska.

His favorite food is Leger's Deli Sandwich, The Kitchen Sink” and if he had to only eat one food for the rest of his life it would be Sandwiches. He said “The whole reason they are my favorite food is that there is a sandwich for any mood you may be in. You can do so many variations it will never get old!”

He said if he had a warning label it would say “Warning: Blatant Honesty About To Happen!”

Since all teachers are superheroes, when asked what another superhero they would be, he said Captain America.

Thank you for all that you do for CTE and Nebo School District.
