In Nebo School District, we have amazing CTE teachers! We are so grateful for all that they do for our students, parents, and for our district. February is CTE Month and to celebrate our teachers we would like to spotlight them and share a few fun facts we have learned about each of them.

Lisa Walker has been teaching for 20 years teaching and has been the Athletic Trainer for 28 years. She currently teaches at Springville High School and teaches Exercise Science/Sports Medicine, Medical Terminology, Emergency Medical Services.

The best thing about her job she says is “Helping students to find a career. Many of my students have gone on to work in the medical professions and that is extremely rewarding.”

In her spare time, she enjoys many things depending on her mood. She enjoys relaxing at the beach, on the water playing, or on the go traveling. She also enjoys working out and being active doing activities like water skiing, snow skiing, golf, tennis, or even shopping!

When asked if she could live anywhere in the world she wanted, she said “Utah works for me!”

If there was anything she could not live without it would be a good pillow! A good night's sleep makes everything better the next day!

Lisa doesn’t have a favorite food but likes a healthy variety of things so if she had to eat only one food for the rest of her life that would be a tough one to decide.

If Lisa had a warning label it would say “Warning: This person won't hesitate to speak up with a strong opinion and won't quit until the issue is resolved and the health and safety of all have been improved.”

When asked what animal she would be she said “A horse. They are smart, strong, loyal, and kind. Horses enjoy working and helping other species including humans. Horses definitely make the world a better place!”

Thank you for all that you do for CTE and Nebo School District.
