Eight SFHS FFA Students Win State Proficiency Award

The Utah FFA Association recently announced their state proficiency winners.  The proficiency program recognizes students for the skills they have developed through their Supervised Agriculture Experience. Their SAEs are where they can take what they learn in the classroom and apply it in real world settings. Spanish Fork had 11 projects that were sent on to the state level from or area.

Interior Design Class Learn about House Styles

SFHS has amazing CTE teachers that provide engaging classroom activities to help our students learn in a creative ways.   Whitney Carter's Interior Design class built their own gingerbread houses while learning about Housing Styles. These styles include Log Cabin, Cape Cod, Victorian, Spanish, Greek Revival, Craftsman, and Tudor.   Can you identify which is which?

National Winner from Mapleton Jr. High School, Kristi Mendenhall

Congratulations to Kristi Mendenhall who placed 1st in the State Make It With Wool Contest in the Junior Division!  She went on to the National contest held in San Antonio, Texas and placed 7th in the Nation.

Kristi is a 9th grade student from  Mapleton Junior High in Mrs. Groneman's  Clothing Class.

Nebo Advanced Learning Team visit CAPS Program

Nebo Advanced Learning Center was privileged to send 6 representatives to Kansas to visit the headquarters of the “CAPS Network”. CAPS, or Centers for Advanced Professional Studies, are programs that are recognized as innovative high school programs. Students have unique opportunities to be immersed in a professional culture and solve real world problems using industry tools. The ALC is working toward securing professional mentors from the business community to support our newly established program.
