Payson High's advanced culinary arts class catered the Payson/Santaquin Area Chamber December meeting. From the decorations to the fabulous food, the students did it all and received compliment after compliment about the outstanding quality of it all. Sherry Heaps is the instructor.
Anne Blake of the SLC Safe Housing Program, spoke to the digital media classes at PHS about effective marketing. She also spoke to the communications class about how to get other people to hear what you are trying to say. Computer coder, Ryan Holdaway, spoke to Payson High's computer program classes about where coding has taken him. He has developed apps that make texting look like emoji's to everyone but your friends and manipulated the game Pokemon Go so he could get the best Pokemon while at work. Students asked him intriguing questions while he impressed them with the demand and flexibility of the job.
Mr. John Penrod, Springville City Attorney, met with the district interns to teach them about safety in the workplace, discrimination, sexual harassment, and labor laws.

Students who have taken CTE courses in high school are elgible to apply for a CTE scholarship to further their studies in CTE. Mnay schools are offering one year of tuition.
